2006
The station is preparing for a new schedule which
may be delayed due to the many technical issues encountered in summer.
The new schedule is expected to be launched on Monday 16th October 2006.
Summer
2006
Throughout 2004 and 2005, Christian Light Radio
kept improving its studio facilities and outside broadcast units. In
2006, most of our efforts were channeled at the challenges posed by
restrictions in the broadcasting license. In Summer 2006, we faced some
technical issues which were later resolved.
October 2003 -
August 2006
Many new programs, activities, and improvements
took/will take place. We hope to be able to start updating this page
again as of August 2006.
October 2003
New program schedule launched. Three new programs
including a new locally produced children's program, Ghanja ta' Ferh.
August 2003
Purchase of processing unit.
July 2003
Purchase of new equipment to enhance weekly
outside broadcasts from the Millennium Chapel.
June 2003
Millennium Chapel broadcasts from Christian Light
Radio started being relayed on a regular basis on Radju Lehen il-Qala
in Gozo.
May 2003
First open seminar addressed by all producers of
Christian Light Radio and open also to the general public.
October 2002
New program schedule launched. 5 new programs for
the October to December
2002 program schedule. Daily Live programs in the evening. Weekly
outside
broadcast from Paceville's Millennium Chapel.
September 2002
Update of the studio telephone lines to ISDN for
superior quality and added
services.
August 2002
Purchase of a location audio mixer and cordless
microphone to further enhance our outside broadcast gear.

Purchase of cabling and accessories to equip our
outside broadcast gear.

Started broadcasting Live on the Internet.

in the history of Christian Light Radio.

A new computer purchased and configured for
recording purposes.

New professional broadcast audio mixer purchased
and installed in the studio.
This mixer facilitates the Live/recorded program production and greatly
enhances
the functionality of studio.
22 June 2001
Naxxar studio furnished with air-conditioning
unit. A big thank you to our
installer who did the work free of charge.
30 May 2001
Outside Broadcast Equipment purchased. It will now
be possible to have many
more location broadcasts. Such broadcasts will give a better identity
to
Christian Light Radio being closer to the community.

A new Digital Hybrid purchased for better sounding

calls.

New program schedule launched. Three new LIVE
programs added.

Launched a new look and added a few links to
Christian Light Radio website.
1 February 2001
Added a new time slot for Song of the week. It is
now on air at 6.10am,
8.10am, 2.10pm, 4.10pm, 10.10pm, and 1.10am. Slightly changed format
clocks for
PRAISE. Added a new 'Gold' category for Praise and Worship format.

First listener put on the air via telephone lines

Sanctuary. This campaign will be sustained

week in collaboration with Ghaqda Bibblika Maltija (Malta Bible
Society) and Joe
Aquilina (FGBMFI).
23 September 2000
Added 'One minute' spots featuring 'Focus on the
Family' and 'Money Minute'. These are
aired six times daily. Promotions for 'Adventures in Odyssey' and
'Family Daily' also
started to be aired after the program broadcast.

The station now has its official telephone number
which is 2141 8686. Listeners may wish to
phone and leave their comments.
9 September 2000
Music Library updated in particular the 'Maltese'
and 'Gospel' categories.

Christian Light Radio fully covered the
FestaZghazagh event which took place at the
trade fair grounds in Naxxar. This has undoubtedly been a great
challenge for the station
as, apart from it being the first outside broadcast, it involved much
effort which is not
normally involved in a standard location broadcast. Twelve hours of
daily live broadcasts
divided in two six hour slots meant all hand on board. This was also
enhanced by the
continuous presence throughout the ten days of the fair engaging in a
wide spread
promotional campaign.
21 August 2000
Daily Live broadcasts from FestaZghazagh started. This
is the first outside broadcast
of Christian Light Radio.

New Station liners added.
24 July 2000
Regular program schedule launched. Program times
are now as per the published schedule
to the minute.
15 July 2000
The first batch of programs aired. Station liner
changed

Program schedule finalised. Regular programming
will start on Saturday 15th July 2000.

Broadcasts on the frequency identified as
'Christian Light Radio'. Station engaged on a
preliminary playlist which will be used up to mid July.

Test transmissions started in full hi-fi Stereo on
105.4MHz in the commercial FM band.

Field strength tests by the Wireless telegraphy
department finalised.
2 June 2000
Installation approved by wireless telegraphy
department. Awaiting a technical report
for presentation to the Malta Broadcasting Authority for issue of
license.

Main transmitter and antenna mast installed.

Approval by the Wireless Telegraphy of the
broadcast equipment to be used. Program
schedule reaching its final stages. Music library updated.

Final stage of broadcast equipment ordered
(transmitter and antenna).

Purchase of the primary computing equipment.
