Prayer
Did you find time to pray today? How about right now. Jesus encourages us to pray in the 'inner room'
of our house. Somewhere where we're away from all distractions, somewhere where we're free to pray
without the preoccupation that someone is watching or judging us. And God who lives inside our hears
will hear us. Its not as much as what we pray or how we do it, but it is as how much we are available
to God. The greatest sin is when we refuse to acknowledge that God CAN heal us. Jesus has the power
to touch our hearts. Who can see the sun in the midst of a storm? Yet it WILL shine again. God's love is
always there - sometimes we fail to see it! The sea water is all around a fish, its on the outside and on
its inside. This makes it impossible for it to see the water. Yet it breathes through the water, water
gives it life and the ability to move around.
God calls us to set some time to pray each day. He longs to hear our voice and be with Him for a few
moments. It may be a simple 'Our Father' or asking Him to be with us during the day. Anything.
Remember its not what we say or do, its how much we let ourselves be present in front of God.
God is real and not just an imagination. He really does answer prayer. There are an infinite number of
instances in scripture where Jesus says that God will answer the prayers of those who seek Him
wholeheartedly.
Why don't you pray right now? You may walk away from the computer right now, or you may wish to
read what's ahead as a guide.
God you are almighty. You have created heaven and earth and all the Universe. You have the power to
do anything. You have walked on water showing us that you have authority over nature and over all.
Lord Jesus, thank you for being my friend. Thank you for all your love. Thank you for not giving up on
me. Your love is constant and does not depend on how I feel. Please forgive me for all I've done in the
past. Help me walk in your path each day. You said that you will send your Holy Spirit on whoever
earnestly asks you. Here I am Lord, I open my heart and ask you to send upon me your Holy Spirit. I
give my life to you. I acknowledge you as my Lord and Savior. Be Lord in me and take control of my
life. I ask you to use me, an empty vessel, to spread your love amongst those around me.
If you feel the Lord calling you to be closer to Him, treasure the moment. Decide to walk in His paths.
Speak to a friend whom you trust and know is close to Jesus. Do not let thoughts of the future, or of
what others will think about you, disturb you. Do not waste this moment. Remember, when God calls,
He gives us the grace to follow. He said 'my burden is easy and light'.
